Bhakthi is the musical note, Athma is the composer, creates a composition, charming the divine to offer mukthi. *

You may wonder why I have made this statement? How can bhakthi be a musical note? Let us discuss. Shall we?

Bhakthi is the essence of all forms of life. Some call it love; some call it service; some call it swasam; some may even think it is energy.

Be it any form it is a communication to the divine or ambal. This love towards ambal is like the mighty ganga which starts as akasha ganga and trinkles down into the stream as it crosses land and its landscapes, but it still retains its quality of serving the life forms as it flows, like that the athma when starting off from ambal as a mighty force of energy, crossing many lives and trinkles down as a speck of jeevan but retains that force of energy which is the bhakthi towards ambal, its course may change, its intensity might be reduced, its bhavam might be tainted but its nature hasn’t changed since it is like a musical note which might create different ragas, different music but the nature as a musical note remains, hence i have compared bhakthi to a musical note.

Next , I have said athma is the composer It is obvious isn’t it? Athma knowing the musical note, its jathis, swaras, its basic rules, creates this beautiful composition, it can be a song, it can be a art form, it can be a discourse, it can be a silent prayer, it can be a recitation etc, the composer decides the musical note of which one to create , which ones to use to enhance the joy of praising Ambal. On purpose i didn’t use the word Self, since the association of the athma and the divine alone brings joy and ultimate happiness, the body or the mind is numb to such an emotion, all our joy is from the athma, that is why we want to have more of those experiences with ambal, you want that miracle, that chamatkar or magical moment with ambal, your search is for that union which is only between the athma and the divine and not with the body and the divine, hence i said athma is the composer.

The last line is a mischievous line “charming the divine to offer mukthi”

I thought about different words like submission, surrender etc, but my inner self cried out loud “ No, if it was surrender, you will submit and walk away , but you keep coming with songs, recitation reading and immersing yourself in the divine, holding her feet, at times coaxing her, sometimes teasing her, sometimes drenching her with lovely words, so it is not surrender but enchanting her, charming her, appealing to her”, yielding to my inner voice, I used the word charming.

So why do I charm her? I am charming her for one big favour, every person in this world wants something, from someone and from the divine, some want money, some want power, some want peace, some want security etc, but all athmas in this world want mukthi isn’t it? Getting away from everything be it joy or sorrows, success or failure, lavish or impoverish hence i acted as a spokesperson of mankind to say “charming the divine to offer nothing but mukthi”. We all use this word casually, but it is the biggest, costliest, magnificent gift from ambal, which can be got only by charming her to offer it to us, hence the last line.
