"Mei caruku āgum pōthu
mei uṇarttuvathu "meyyē,nīyē ulakam"
eṉpathai viṭṭu viṭṭu
meyyai uṇara pazhagu
athu uṇarttum nī yaār eṉṟu"
Meaning:
In Tamil mei has two meanings:
Truth
Body
I have used the word Mei in both its forms.
The meaning of the verse is :
when the body (Mei) withers
mei (truth) tells the body (Mei) " understand that you are not the centre of everything in this world and start realising what is the absolute truth, when you realise that, you will understand who you really are "
Explanation /my thought process:
When the body starts to wither due to illness or old age or even by troubles/misery, we always get negative thoughts about life. all emotions floods us. We are sad, depressed and we feel so let down by God or ourselves and we always think, what have I done? what wrong have I done?, why is this happening only to me? so on and so forth.
Every human being in this world has this in them,no doubt but a well trained mind understands, assimilates and then absorbs it. Here is what happens.
when that thought reaches a well trained mind, the mind reacts.
The process of understanding:
Stage 1 :
In stage 1 there are two processes
Body processes - the physical disintegration /shattering of the senses takes place to process the misery, troubles and illness
Mental Processes - It begins with questions like - why me? .......... to ..........when will it end? ........... How will it end ? ........who can help? etc
This is the fundamental stage which all of us go through, some stop here but others move to the next stage
Stage 2 :
The Self which is trained constantly will reduce its time in stage 1 and quickly move to Stage 2.
Here the self is taught the absolute truth, which is, you are a particle in this cosmos, you are swaying to the damru sound of shiva and the to the natya layam of sakthi , the beat creates the thunderous sound, shredding the worn out , ill placed cells in the body with sakthi’senergy, which is - gushing of life, thereby creating a stream of life source, during which the cosmos sways to the creative command and every cell skipping a beat in every living organisms. This realization when achieved the body understands that it is not the center of the cosmos but a part of the grand design, created by the two great forces, shiva and sakthi. This I call as the absolute truth. a trained mind assimilates this thought very well and then moves to the next stage.
When the mind understands this absolute truth it helps the manam to reach Stage 3
Stage 3 :
In this stage the manam floats in the pond of bhakthi as a full bloomed lotus and ambal who represents the the truth and its meaning (Mei + Porul= Meiporul) sits in the Centre of the lotus, swaying to the rhythmic sound of the heart, resembling the dumru sound of shiva, lost in the jingles of the devotees buddhi, while She hushes the senses of the knower to calm down, whispering
“It will all be over soon, ithuvum kadanthu pogum kalangathe...”
