Seeing God in everything you do
And in everything around you is Jnanam
We have often heard from our elders that we should learn to see God in nature, in others; have you wondered why?
Here is my point of view.
God the Supreme is the total of all energies in this world. This energy wholesome has so much love, that She nominates three major functions in this world
Creation
Protection
Dissolution
These three states/functions are the anda sarasaram. The whole universe is all about these 3 functionaries. Ambal’s energy is distributed equally in these 3 states.
Let us look at
Creation:
All creatures in this world need prana Sakthi to begin life. This prana Sakthi should come from somewhere. The source has to be from the state called creation. So creation is not an adjective here but a noun that is why our Puranas identified this creative energy as Lord Brahma. The source of energy for Brahma is Parasakthi (GOD)
Protection:
The universe with all its creatures has to be protected and sustained for the role play with dharma as its centre stage. So for this role play energy is needed. This energy for survival is offered by Lord Vishnu who is also the upholder of dharma. That is why Lord Vishnu stresses the process of dharma, whenever there is a threat to dharma he descends to uphold it. This sustenance energy is given to him from Parasakthi (GOD)
Dissolution :
When the creatures have drawn out energies more than it requires and leaves the stage of dharma and descends to adharma, it is time to dissolve the creation and make a fresh start, so this state is performed by Lord Shiva and the energy to perform such an act is got from Parasakthi through his yogic dance called Shiva Thandavam.
In all three processes, the energy of Ambal becomes the action performed by the three actors. They are all in unison and one with Ambal that is why each of them has their Sakthi by their side to give energy in the form of knowledge (Maha Saraswathi); wealth (Maha Lakshmi) and strength (Maha Kali). The three forms meditate on each other, thereby energising each other and understanding the duty to be performed according to the will of parasakthi (GOD)
Knowledge of these aspects is taught to us at every stage through Puranas, stories, slokas, Vedanta, etc. This scriptural knowledge comes together when we start acknowledging that GOD is the source of all things in this universe and every role that we play in this world is according to her wish and according to her ways. This knowledge is true knowledge and the paramount knowledge which is called Jnanam.
Secondly, everything around us is a speck of energy from Parasakthi, all forms of energy are from one single source, which when understood is nothing but Ambal herself in everything we see around. To inculcate this knowledge in each of us we have the namaskaram posture acknowledging God in everyone; praying to the Sun, Indra, Varuna, tulsi, arasamaram, neen trees, rivers like Ganga, Yamuna, Cauvery, praying to mountains, worshipping cow as a kow matha, snake/naga as a kula team is all part of that acknowledgment. This constant reminder draws us closer to the real truth which is the absolute knowledge called Jnanam.
Hence In a simple sentence, I have said acknowledging and understanding that everything we do and everything around us is God is true knowledge or Jnanam.
