Today’s message is:

Silence is the language of the divine

Patience is the song for the divine

The two in harmony brings peace to the Self

Let us take the first statement

1.Silence is the language of the divine

Once Mrs.Indira Gandhi went and met Sri. Shankaracharya and when she came out, journalist asked her about her conversation with Periava “It was wonderful,” the prime minister replied. “I put all my questions to him, and he answered every one of them, but neither of us spoke a word.”

Such is the power of silence.

Often we say, when there is an argument, to avoid confrontations “I remain silent”, are we really silent? No. There is chatter in our head. That is not silence, silence is when you reduce the noise in your mind,by asking your mind to reduce thinking , by turning down the volume of your mind voice and shutting the outside noise completely. When you do this the divine voice within starts speaking up. It is like a gentle breeze in a garden; it is like a rustling of the leaves; it is like a sound from the flute of Krishna. The atma reacts to that calling of the divine within and the silence itself becomes the language created, experienced by the self.

Such is the power of silence. It is the bluetooth of the self.

2. Patience is the song for the divine

Having now established the medium of communication the atma now slowly but rhythmically sings the song for the divine, with basic elements of music, like the rhythm; the pitch; the form, the texture, the mood.

Rhythm here is the timing - for example when you sit in the pooja room ,eyes closed, listening to your heart beat, the atma creates the dynamics within.

When the dynamics is created and all set, the silence is either high or low, which is the pitch.

Once the atma tunes in to the correct pitch, the form of music is played within, responding to the mood of the day, sometimes it is a rejoiceful, sometimes melancholic, sometimes soulful etc. this song which is created inside has many layers to it which in musical terms is referred to as the texture of music. With these components the song is born within you, all written in the language called silence.it takes time, it takes your energy, it takes away your ego, it takes away your time , all of which are the components of impatience /fear/intolerance. When these components are removed you become patient, tolerant, restraint and that is what i call as the song for the divine.(singing for the divine)

The third statement is:

3. The two in harmony bring peace to the Self

Harmony is peace, because it is the combination of tranquillity which is brought about by silence and musical ,which is brought about by patience. The two set the athma in a swing to sway with the divine for everlasting happiness for everything in this world was created out of silence. Our essence of life was created from nothingness and emptiness. That is why the athma experiences happiness in nothingness which is silence and emptiness which is patience.
